Firefox swiveled to catch the sound of something moving in the brush. He was suppose to be doing rounds, but even he couldn't refuse the knawing in his belly. So he had gone off in search of something to subside the hunger. He sat under a tall maple tree, and he could just see the stars in the skies above him, winking and twinking as if to mock him with their beauty and freedom. He heard leaves rustle again, closer this time, and crouched down.
The wind blew at his red coat and he cursed under his breath. The wind was blowing the wrong way! The rabbit bounded from the bushes and Firefox was quick to leap after it. His claws cut the earth as he ran after the hare, but the race was lost. The hare turned quickly and dissapeared down a rabbit hole. Fire stood hissing and cusing, clawing at the hole. He growled and turned away, ear pinned to his head. He walked back toward the boundry line, for he had crossed it in the chase and sniffed the air. His lon, bushy tail flicked back and forth and he pricked his audits forward, for the wind was telling him something. There was someone else here. [/blockquote]

The feline scrambled out of the bushes, her short gray pelt glistening in the starlight. She was the one who had scared the rabbit out of the bushes if he thought he had done it on his own. She sighed softly. "Sorry.." She murmured, her ears laid back against her head as she stared at him with her soft crystal blue eyes. She walked up to his side and studied his features. She didn't mean to scare the rabbit she was going to catch for the leader. The rabbit was plump and looked juicy and she couldn't help but just drool over the food. She sat down softly and wrapped her tail around her paws neatly. She blinked gratefully at him for not attacking her when she approached him. He did seemed quite aggressive or so. She sighed, slightly attracted to him. She didn't know why, but felt that something tugged her closer to him. She held herself back, looking at him with her soft eyes.

Fire growled loudly and crouched down as the bushes rustled. He half expected another tom-cat to jump out at him, or even another rabbit, but all that came out was a little she-cat. His growl cut short and he sat up. His ears pinned at her words. "So you're the reason I lost my dinner." he snapped coldly. His bright green eyes looked her over. He lifted a paw and examined it thoughtfully. "Shouldn't you be at the camp?" he asked as his claws extented. He put his paw back down and eyed her.

She-cat flexed her paws on the grounds, unsheathing her claws once or twice. "Look, I said I was sorry. I am a warrior, I can come out of camp whenever I want." She stated softly. She took a step away from him, obviously scared her might pounce on her and start a fight. The she-cat was the right side for her age, and she was strong, but this tom was larger, and stronger than her, but probably just by a bit. "Firefox, right? Please don't start a fight with me, I-I was just trying to catch some prey." She stammered softly, taking a few more steps back as fear rumbled in her chest. She was afraid but would fight if she had to. She approached closer to him now, not caring if he pounced. She was prepared and ready. "I was hungry. Just like you probably are right now. Since I scared the prey you can have my share of prey back at camp?"

A growl rumped deep in his chest as the little she-cat took a step closer. He stood up and wasn't surprised that was tall than she. "I can catch my own food, Feathertail." he hissed, stepping closer to her. His tail flicked back and forward in antsiy. He looked her over again and shook his head slightly. "Why, in all the stars would I start a fight with you?" he asked, flicking a hark forward in question. He had to give it to her. No matter how sweet she seemed to be, it didn't look like she was about to back down. [/blockquote]

"If you knew so, you get your prey out of the fresh kill pile. You can't just catch your prey and eat it right after you catch it." She hissed. She pinned her ears towards him softly. "You would want to fight with me so you can have 'fun'. I have met toms like you, Firefox. I have battled with each one. I don't wish for a fight, but my mother is the leader, I must not back down, no matter how much I want." She hissed. She flicked her tail towards him. The she-cat would never back down. Though she was smaller than him, just a little bit. She wasn't a kit, and she would never be one again. "I was just trying to make it up to you for scaring away 'your dinner'." She murmured. Still strangely attracted to him, she looked at him with her soft blue gaze.

He narrowed his eyes and flexed his paws, his tail flicking in thought. "Fun?" he growled, stepping closer. "You think the idea of fighting you appeals to me?" he hissed. He moved as fast as a striking snake. He tackled her to the ground and pressed a paw to her throat, his long claws just touching her flesh. His nose was inches from her's. "I don't care who your mother is. I don't care about you're morals. And, damn it Red, I do not want to fight you." he growled loudly. His claws flexed, and he moved back. Her eyes where the softest of blues, just as Red's had been. He shook his head. The little she-cat was nothing like Red, but why had he called her that? "I'm sorry Feather." He said softly, and sat down. [/blockquote]

After her grabbed her neck and called her Red, she didn't know what to do. When he finally let go, she backed away from him and leaped into the bushes, scrambling away. She darted to the center of a path she didn't recognize. It seemed more gray then the other paths and lacked prey. She flicked her ears back and settled down on the path, planning on lying there and planning on catching a lot of prey to keep her mind off of things. She no longer felt the need to talk to anyone, nevermind anything. She listened to the air and heard the scurrying of a mouse. No, it didn't matter if she broke the warrior code anymore. She stalked the prey and pounced up onto and caught it. She laid it on the path and began chewing on it tenderly, her ears pricked now that Firefox was no longer in few.

He watched her leave, and sat head bowed, tail twitching in thought for the longest time. Then something moved in the grass, and he flicked a hark toward it. In the blink of an eyes he pounced and was happy to find a mouse trapped under his claws. The little vermin tried to bite his paws, but all he had to do was flex his long claws and the mouse stilled with death. He ate it quickly and went after Fathertail. He came out a few feet down the trail from her. For the first time in a long time, Fire cursed his red coat as he walked silently over to her. "So much for not backing down." he said cooly, stopping infront of her. He picked up a paw and licked some of the blood left from his meal off, as he waited for her to speak.

She glared at him softly. "What do you want?" She hissed. She pinned her ears at him. She unsheathed her claws, ready to fight with him. She curled her tail turning it from side to side. Her crystal blue eyes studied every one of his movements. She sighed softly. "Firefox, I don't want a fight." She said sincerely, backing away, still terrified. She felt that he was going to murder her and say someone else did it, much like Tigerclaw did long ago. She sighed softly once again. She tossed the mouse she caught into the bushes and then blinked at Firefox, the tom she once trusted and now was terrified of. She waited for him to reply to her softly. She licked her chaps as she thought of eating the mouse. She was starving, but knew she couldn't eat near Firefox.

He froze and flicked his large ears forward. He put his paw down and watched her throw the muse away. He looked at her as if she was crazy, but took a deep breath and shook the thought away. "I wanted to make sure you where alright. I didn't mean to hurt you." he said softly, head bowed slightly. He sat down and curled his long tail around his hind legs. His ears flicked back, and he looked like a kit being scowled for causeing trouble.

She sheathed her sharp claws and looked softly towards him. "Fine - I'm fine." She stated. She sat down, wrapping her tail around her front paws. Her short gray pelt glimmered in the sunlight. She watched as he flicked his ears back and sighed. "I'm sorry for being such a jerk." She sighed, this time blinking her eyes at him gratefully. She crept up closer to him, but kept a distance, afraid he was trying to fool her. She closed her eyes and bowed her bodice towards him, flicking her tail towards him. She sat down and wrapped her tail tightly around her paws, yet neatly. Her glare was made into a soft gaze as she prodded the ground with her paw. She walked away from him and reached her head into a bush, pulling out the mouse. She brought it to Firefox and laid it front of him. "Here is some prey, I-I know you catch your own and all.. but I was wondering if you just wanted it." She said softly.

He flicked his audits forward and looked up at her. "You weren't being a jerk, Feather." he said warmly. He watched as she walked oer to the bush and stuck her head in. She pulled out th dead mouse and put infront of him. He flicked one hark forward. He looked down at it, then up at her. His percing green eyes neve left her's ad his lifted a paw. His claws unsheathed, blood still clung to some of them, and Firefox's face was emotionless. With one expert motion, he pushed a claw under the dead mouse and flung it toward Feather, it landed at her feet, just as it had landed at it. He smiled and hid his claws once more. His smile was a mysterious one. "Keep it, I've already ate." he said warmly.

She slid the mouse to the left of her. She would bring it back to camp. She was slightly surprised by how nice he was being to her. She flicked her tail. She was speechless. She prodded her head with her paw and the bush leaves flew off of her head. She set herself down, her tail sweeping the ground softly. She walked up to Firefox, setting herself in front of him. The leaves faded into the horizon as the wind voyaged them to the unknown. Feathertail smiled towards him happily. Her crystal eyes gazed into his softly as she sat there, right in front of him. Her tail wrapped around her paws neatly as she tucked the rest of her tail behind her front legs. She grinned at him gratefully, shifting to the side, wondering if he didn't or did like her being closer to him than before. If not he would probably claw her face off.

He looked her up and down as she came closer. His fox lik ears flicked forward, then back, then forward again, as if they didn't know where to rest. In the end he stuck them out to the side. Mixed the with weary surprise on his face, the look was something close to angelic. He shifted away slightly, but stopped. "Don't look at me like that." his voice was something between a childish plea and the sound of amusement. He flicked his tail and looked down at her.
