Mapleleaf was sitting in her den next to the high rock. There were many herbs in there. She was looking through her herbs, and found that she is missing water mint. So she walked out of her den, and found Leafstar outside of her den, and smiled."Hello Leafstar. Did you need anything from my den? Did you need to talk to me?"

IC: Leafstar prodded the ground softly with her paws, digging her claws into the dirt. "No thank you, Mapleleaf. I was just sending out patrols." she said, nodding to Feathertail who pranced away happily with her friends. Leafstar smiled sweetly to Mapleleaf. "I saw some Watermint roots out near the river if you are looking for them, Feathertail told me earlier that there weren't many." She said softly.

Mapleleaf walked a little closer to Leafstar. "Thank you for telling me where the water mint roots are. I was just going out to find some."She turned her head, then turned it back to face Leafstar."Would you like to come with me to gather some water mint? It would be nice to have someone with me in the forest." She sat down in her place waiting for an answer.

Leafstar flicked her tail softly, smiling towards Mapleleaf. "Sounds like fun, I'll show you right where I found the watermint roots." She smiled, pouncing up. "Come on and keep up if you can!" she exclaimed, leaping into the forest. Once she reached the end of the path that she was on a patrol and found the roots on, she slid to a halt, walking off the path and creeping onto a muddy area. It was quite boggy and seemed like slush. Leafstar led Mapleleaf to a batch of roots.

"Thank you for coming and leading me to the water mint!" she said happily."When you see one, pull on the stem with your mouth. It will come out of the ground easily with the roots attatched. We can just make a pile next to us. I need as many as I can get, because I dont really have a lot of time to go out this far and gather some." She pointed to a bush of water mint and said,"You can start with that bush. It looks very lush. That would probably be the best place to get some." She pulled one out of the ground, and put it next to them, starting a pile."When we bring them back to camp, I can pull the roots off. I won't need any help with that. She kept pulling them out, while glancing over at Leafstar making sure she was doing fine.

Leafstar reached her head down and yanked out the watermint, spitting it out. It tasted disgusting, so she laid it on the pile, and repeated the gesture until she finished pulling out all of the lush roots on the bush. She licked her chaps, trying to get the taste out. "They taste horrible." She muttered.

Mapleleaf replied,"I'm so used to the taste that it doesn't even really taste like anything. But when I first started gathering water mint, I could barely even get the taste out of my mouth!" She finished talking and continued pulling more water mint. She put some down onto the pile and finally said,"That should be enough for now. That is actually a lot more than I usually get, but it would make it easier for me later, when I would usually end up running out." she said excited.

Leafstar flicked her ears. "Thats good for you." she snickered softly. "And that sounds good, now you can rest better." She smiled sweetly. She pouncing up and leaning forward, she lapped up a taste of the water that washed the watermint taste out of her mouth. She flicked her tail and grabbed half the pile of watermint, allowing Mapleleaf to carry the rest of it. She began prancing towards camp. When they reached camp, she slid into Mapleleaf's den, lying down the watermint pile where it was supposed to go. She slipped out of the den, sighing softly.

IC;; Firefox stumbled out of the brush, cursing under his breath. He paused and lifted his paw, examining it with a pained expression. His large ears flicked back and he flicked his long bushy tail in irritation. "Please tell me you can do something about this?" he said in a strained voice, limping over to Mapleleaf. He looked up and paused. He flashed Leafstar and weak, ained smile, then turned to Mapleleaf. He held up his paw to show her the thorn enbedded there. "I tried to pull it out, but it didn't work out to good." he said sitting down. His tail still flicking in pain.

IC: Feathertail padded over to Mapleleaf, smiling at the older cat and blinking at her. She flicked her tail at Firefox's nose, teasing him. "A thorn? I know this one - we need some dock leaves, and horse tail." She said softly, flicking her tail and happily prancing into Mapleleaf's den and grabbing what was needed even though Mapleleaf hadn't asked her to. She took the dock and chewed the leaves, spitting out the juice onto a leaf and reaching her paw in and rubbing it around the wound and then sinking her fangs into the thorn and yanking it out, spitting it on the ground so it wouldn't get caught on her tongue. She then slipped the horsetail leaves over where she pulled the thorn out so it wouldn't get infected. She then licked her mate's cheek and padded to the water hole and washed her paws in it because it tasted horrible. She then trotted over to Firefox and laid her rump next to him. "Feel better?" She purred softly.

Firefox pricked his ears as Feathertail came over. He watched as she ran about. His ears pinned back and he took a tentive step back when she reatched into the leaf. He bared his teeth when she touched the area around the thorn. He closed his eyes and chocked back a growl. His claws dug into the ground when she pulled it out. He ishged slightly when she put the horse tail over the wound. He smiled weakly and looked at her when she returned. "I'll live." he muttered testing his paw. He smiled thankfully at her.

She grinned playfully. "That sounds good." She teased. She padded away and grabbed a piece of fresh kill, walking under a oak tree and tearing the prey into different pieces. She stuffed each morsel into her mouth even though this one tasted horrible and anything but juicy. She tossed the bones away and laid there for a moment, peacefully.

He smiled in return and lifted his paw to lick it, but thought better of it and put it back down. He stood up and followed Feathertail. He licked her forehead gently and fell down beside her. "Where's Leafstar?" he asked her in an almost bored, off handed voice, looking up at her with a smile.

She smiled sweetly, licking his cheek softly. She flicked her tail, her jade gaze following his. "I don't know, I think she went onto a patrol." She said softly, knowing her mother was secretly visiting another clan leader for they were in a forbidden love. She held back the want to tell him. She flicked her tail softly, flicking her ear towards him.
